It’s the day after Thanksgiving and everybody’s on the road
Everybody is heading to the mall
Division street is backed up five miles from end to end
Parking lot’s got SUVs packed wall to wall

Now everybody knew before they buckled in their cars
That the traffic would just drive them up the wall
But the TV talked about it and the neighbors do the same
And there’s lots of stuff for sale up at the Mall

Doesn’t matter if you don’t need it you’ll save money in the game
And God knows there are hard times up ahead
We need to jumpstart the economy and support our President
For who knows come some tomorrow we might all be dead

It’s an American tradition You’ve got to play that Patriot Game
You spend what you don’t have I’ll do the same
Burn up your gas in traffic send the smoke up in the sky
Dick and George will surely thank you bye and bye.

Doesn’t matter if you don’t need it you’ll save money in the game
And God knows there are hard times up ahead
We need to jumpstart the economy and support our President
For who knows come some tomorrow we might all be dead

You’re an American consumer a City on the Hill
Show the world how they can live the American Way
Fill your house with toys and treasures
And get all your credit cards filled
It’s just another debt you’ll have to pay.

Doesn’t matter if you don’t need it you save money in the game
And God knows there are hard times up ahead
We need to jumpstart the economy and support our President
For who knows come some tomorrow we might all be dead.
