The 20th Annual Fall Folk Festival!  Spokane – We play on Sunday, November 15th, 1:00 pm on the Sasquatch stage.  Plus we’ll have a photography booth. Come on out to this great festival of music, art and culture!

2014 Shows:

Saturday, May 3rd, 7 to 9 pm – Grande Ronde Cellars (906 W. 2nd Ave. Spokane)  The Bill & Mike Blues Reunion!  It has been nearly 10 years since Bill and Mike Janes recorded 3 cds together and performed to a packed crowd at The Shop.  Mike – family man, avalanche expert, potter, and blues harmonica player from Juneau – will be in town to participate in the “Legacy of Kiln: Terry Gieber Tribute” ceramic exhibit, and we’re delighted that he will also be joining us for a night of music!  Come on out and hear the magical blues of Bill & Mike… no cover.

Friday, May 30th, 2014, 6 to 9 pm – Grande Ronde Cellars (906 W. 2nd Ave. Spokane).  We’ll be opening for Dan Maher!  Come hear the awesome Dan and a few sneak preview songs from our next cd.  $10 suggested donation.

Sunday, August 31st, 2014, 4 to 5 pm – 4th annual Spokane Songwriters stage at Spokane’s largest music/food festival – Pigout in the Park!  Bill & Kathy will be perform a set of Kathy’s songs on the River Stage.

Tuesday, October 21st 3:30, Wednesday, October 22nd 10:30, 2:30, and 4:30 Bill will sing songs of the Columbia for the 2014 Columbia Basin Conference.

Friday, November 7th, 5 to 8 pm – Kendall Yards welcome center corner of Summit Parkway and Cedar. It is located adjacent to the Nest Plaza. Double Threat 1st Friday Art Walk! Come hear our music and see our photography…  and enjoy hot spiced wine tasting while you are there!

Saturday, February 16th, 7 pm: we’ll be one of four acts at the The INBA Bluegrass Showcase. Trent Elementary School, 3303 N. Pines Rd., Spokane , WA 99206. Regular admission is $10 for non-members or $7 for INBA members.

Thursday, April 4th, 7 pm.  The Spokane Songwriters Organization Brick & Mortar Show – Kathy will be one of 2 featured performers for the night.  Not sure who the other featured songwriter is yet but will let you know when we find out.  Hope you can join us!

Friday, April 5th, 6 to 8 pm – 1st Friday Art Walk Night at the Brick Wall Gallery 503 W. Main, skywalk level, Spokane. Come listen.. and look!  see photography by lots of local artists including some of our prints.

Friday, April 19th, 7 pm to 9 pm – Grande Ronde Cellars 906 W. 2nd, Spokane.  This is an all round great place… a wine bar with a listening room, plus regular art displays.  Come back in June to see some of our photography on dispaly.

Thursday, February 2nd – 7 to 9 pm the Brick & Mortar show sponsored by the Spokane Songwriters Organization. The show will include a 40 minute set of songs by Bill.  Kevin Brown will also be performing a featured set at the show which starts with a half-hour open mic. What a night!

Friday, February 3rd6 to 8 pm the February Visual Arts Tour, The Brick Wall Photographic Gallery 530 W. Main, Skywalk level, Spokane, WA .  Come hear us play and see some of our new prints….along with work by lots of other talented photographers!

Thursday, March 8th – This event will include the debut of Kathy’s “Sing While You Can” and one of her prints will be included in the auction.  Notable Healing presents an International Women’s Day Cabaret and an Art Show/ Auction! Women Say OY!! Yiddish and Ladino (Judeo Spanish music) entertainer Sheila Fox is joined by Klezmer clarinetist Liz Dreisbach,violinist Caredwen Spatz and accordionistEileen Webber. Baharat Bellydance Troupe performs a Palestinian Dabke and a dance from the Arab Gulf.  Singer/ songwriter Kathy Kostelec from Blue Ribbon Tea Company, Scarey Feminist poetess Molly Fitzpatrick, Raging Grannies!  Visual artist Ildiko Kalapacs and Graphic artist Katie Irvin AND A GROWING LIST OF WOMEN PERFORMERS AND ARTISTS!  This is a benefit for ongoing PTSD healing in Israel and Palestine. Sunday, June 3rd 11 am PST – Radio interview KYRS Thin Air Community Radio, Spokane Open Poetry with Stephen Pitters. 92.3 fm or  .  It’s great to be back on Stephen’s show!  Hear “Spokane Blues”, “The Coffee Grinder” and “If I Should Find you Sleeping” 1st time on air.

Sunday, November 11th (afternoon – exact time TBA)  Woody Guthrie Tribute show at the Fall Folk Festival at Spokane Community College.  We will be participating in the event along with the Spokane Community Choir, Dan Maher, Carlos Alden, Carl Allen, Nancy Roth and Norvel Trosst.  Bill is hard at work writing the script which will include lots of Woody songs, words, stories, and sing-alongs.  This is an awesome festival weekend put on by the Spokane Folklore Society and it’s all free!

Monday, May 30th – 1 to 4 pm Woody Guthrie Tribute concert at the Northwest Folklife Festival, Seattle, WA.  We will perform a song at 3:10 as part of the multi-act show celebrating the 70th anniversary of Woody’s Columbia River collection.  How fun to be invited!  We love Woody songs and we were engaged on a hillside overlooking the Columbia River near the Grand Coulee Dam – one of our favorite areas photogaph.
